Today I am sharing some boudoir photography at Duncan Estate. This historical venue is right in the heart of Spartanburg. The Duncan Estate is an 1890s mansion built by lawyer, Major David R. Duncan. After his death in 1902 his family remained on the estate until 1937. The land surrounding the house was donated to the City of Spartanburg in 1923. Eleven acres was to be kept open for public enjoyment – now known as Duncan Park. The rest was subdivided into what is now the neighborhood of Duncan Park. The original 4,581 square foot house remains on it’s original four acres and is now one of the most breathtaking event venues in Spartanburg county. I’ve had the privilege of shooting here several times. My clients love it for boudoir sessions, but it’s just as lovely for glamour, family, bridal maternity sessions.

We used the space for both boudoir and some sultry headshots for Miss Kayla.

Shannon’s session was all about her love of fantasy romance at Duncan Estate.

Michelle’s Modeling Headshots Taken at Duncan Estate

It doesn’t have to be all about frilly underpants though! Michelle’s session was focused on getting headshots for a modeling gig.

Rented venues are an underrated option for portraits. Many will discount photographers to book the space on week days or holidays when events aren’t typically booked. This is one of my favorites, but there are several all over the Upstate that are great options. Some are even historically significant, like Duncan Estate. But, even a hotel room can be a great option!
